Fidelity Wars #28: Bright Eyes – “Papa Was A Rodeo”

The popular indie record label Merge Records, home of hip indie bands such as Neutral Milk Hotel and The Magnetic Fields, turns twenty this year. To commemorate they’re doing a few special releases, one of which is the compilation Score! 20 Years Of Merge Records The Covers! featuring various indie artists covering various indie songs which have seen release on the label. It has some decent cover songs, so it’s worth looking into. So, predictably, one of my favourites is this week’s quick pick. (The next four weeks will be plenty busy, so there may be more fairly quick, no nonsense picks to come.)
